Reflection – Oct. 23 - Test #2 - Sec. 14
Discuss your thoughts on taking Test #2. Were you prepared for it? If so, what strategies did you use as part of your preparation? If you were not prepared for it, what will you do next time to ensure that you do well on the test? In addition, discuss your thoughts of today's activities.

Test #2 was quite easy because I was prepared and I did it ahead of time. I use the writing process to aid me throughout writing my essay. Today's activity is pretty good. We just pretty much summarize how the semester has been so far in our own point-of-view.

DeleteTest#2 was indeed easy. I was able to do it ahead of time. My peers who proofread my work was able to make it even better thus helping me write a stronger essay. Today's activity is simple. Just discussed how the semester is so far in our own point-of-view.

DeleteI can’t really say that I prepared for this test essay. I don’t why, but I had trouble picking a topic. Because of that I wasn’t able to utilize my two weeks to prepare for this essay. I felt rushed because of the fact that I had to get my essay peer reviewed by a classmate. I know that I have to pick a topic ahead of time and do a free write for it. I have already started writing my next essay. I just hope that my flow doesn’t get interrupted.

DeleteI agree, the hardest part was choosing a topic. After choosing a topic, everything became easier and flowed through.
DeleteI felt the same way when I was trying to get my paper peer reviewed. I think it's best to get a person to peer review it ahead a time to avoid feeling rushed.

DeleteTest #2 was pretty easy, but stressful. I did the test really last minute. I wouldn't''t find the time to do it because i had work and other classes to go to. I used a bubble map to show all my ideas and after that it was pretty easy to put them together. Next time, i will try to find time to do the essay in advance so it won;t stress me out as much. Today's activity was pretty straight forward. We shared our essays to the class and summarized how the semester has been so far.

DeleteDon't be discouraged, I did the test last minute too. It does create stress. For the writing steps I also did the web and it does help you get more ideas.

DeleteMy thoughts on taking test 2 is that I was just as nervous as I was presenting test 1. In a way I was kind of prepared for it. I always say I won't procrastinate but I end up doing it anyways. Next time to ensure I do well on my test I will look at the class calendar. My thoughts on today's activities is that it was fun. Like my fellow class mates said earlier we don't always do the same thing so it doesn't get boring.
ReplyDeleteI also tell myself that I won't procrastinate, but it just happens. You shouldn't be nervous about presenting. Just take a deep breath to calm yourself and be confident.

DeleteProcrastination got a hold of me too because I didn't start writing my essay until Tuesday! I'm glad you were able to get everything in on time though.
DeleteEveryone gets nervous once in a while. Although I did not find myself to be nervous the second time around. I am kind of getting comfortable with the class which is why I think I don't get as nervous anymore.

DeleteTaking Test #2 was a very fun experience. I had so much fun coming up with exciting ways to tell my story, and I loved adding a personal touch in my story as well. I was actually really prepared for the test because it's based on a true story so all I had to do was recall those memories and write it out. So probably my method of preparation was actually just recalling memories. In addition, based on today's activities, I had a really fun time listening to my fellow classmates' thesis and what they learned throughout the class.

DeleteTest #2 was a very fun experience. I got to use my mind and imagination to work through this essay. I think that narrative essays are my favorite types of essays.
DeleteIt was easier to write because most of our narratives were our stories. The story just flowed through.

DeleteTest #2 was easy, but it gave me some headaches. I did the test a few days ahead of the due date so it gave me some room to work on it. Still this week was a very full week for me. I had several test for my math class, mid terms for my ROTC class, and two essay due in this class. This all piled up and I tried to balance it all and at the end of the week I pretty much finished all my work. I am happy that I handled all the work well and got everything done.

ReplyDeleteTest #2 was by far the easiest major essay. I felt like I had the freedom to express myself and tell my story. I should have started this essay earlier, since I was procrastinating a bit the days before it was due. The rubric for writing really helped me out. Also, the midterm self-reflection was pretty fun too. It made me realize how time really goes by fast.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this was a very easy essay. Narrative essays can easily be made up on the spot. With a bit of imagination this essay is quite simple to accomplish.
DeleteI also procrastinated while doing this essay. This essay was easy, but I just had a hard time because I procrastinated. And I agree that time does go by fast.

DeleteIt was easier to write an essay this time around. I was able to get it done quickly and efficiently, unlike my previous essay. I didn't feel rushed at all because I did the essay ahead of time. The semester is great so far, I just need to start working on my reading lab.

DeleteTest #2 was fairly simple to me. I think that this was a pretty easy because you can pretty much make up your own story. You can also take something from your past experiences to help you write this essay.

DeleteAlthough I told myself that I would not procrastinate for my second essay, I found myself struggling to finish on time because I started late. The essay was much easier to write compared to the first one. I can confidently say I learned the most about writing essays just from this class. For my next essay I will start this week to assure that I have enough time

DeleteTest #2 was a breeze. I actually enjoyed the whole process of writing a Narrative Essay, and for 2 reasons. First, a Narrative Essay allows it's writer greater freedom to speculate, expand and elaborate on their topic. Secondly. writing a Narrative Essay is fun because one could almost write about anything, and in almost any fashion. Having gone through the process of writing a Narrative Essay, I must say that it is my favorite type of essay to not only write, but read as well.

DeleteIn my opinion, test #2 was a pretty easy essay. I believe I had an easy essay topic which was “My first day of high school”. I was prepared because I knew about it and it was about my personal experience. I had good ideas on what to write and I was able to do it in within five days. As for today, we had to go up in front of the class and state our topic, thesis, what we learned, and what was our highlight of the semester.

DeleteTest # 2 was pretty easy because I chose a topic that I had experienced. Also, I was prepared for this test. I was able to do all of the stages within a week of the test. I have already started on my next essay. Today, we talked about our essay and our midterm. I thought it went pretty well.

DeleteThe midterm was a last minute essay. What I learned was to do my essay early. The strategies that I used in test #2 was the outline and brainstorming.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice hearing the different topics from my classmate. It was great that I finished my essay even though I procrastinate in my two essays.

DeleteToday in class, we needed to present out Test #2 essay, and our Self-Reflection essay. I thought today was an okay and chill day, because we were able to hear other peoples' story and what they learned from the course so far. I shared about my a little “Nightmarish Experience” with everyone. I said my thesis was about how over thinking things can be bad sometimes. So you should not stress out about something that might not even happen.
ReplyDeleteThis essay was by far the easiest. You know what to write about because you can choose your own topic and it should be a story you already know. This was easier for me because I did not do it in class. I had hours to work on it and make sure it was better than last time. To prepare me for this, I had been in the computer lab for hours working on this. I worked very hard on this essay to make sure it was my best I could do.

DeleteThe narrative essay seemed much easier for me compared to the descriptive essay.I used the same writing process but more of recalling my memories since I wrote about my childhood. I feel that i should start extra early for the next essay that is due so i wont stress out more. overall, today's activity was simple and easy.

DeleteI believe that I did pretty well on this essay. I can personally say that I did way better than the first and I hope Dr. Rivera thinks so too. My midterm paper could have been better but that's only because I did it last minute. The thought of the semester almost ending makes me very anxious, giving me goosebumps every time. I am absolutely worried about my grade but am hoping that I pass.
ReplyDeleteJust keep pressing forward and keep your thoughts and actions keenly oriented towards your goal(s). Don't second guess yourself. Simply commit and act, and you'll be fine. Cheers!
DeleteThe narrative essay was pretty challenging for me because I did not know what to write about at first, but then later on I started to write what had happened to me 5 years ago on Halloween night. After that, everything just started to flow through and fall into place. I think I did good in my paper. I hope to get a good grade and that I am passing this class.
