Reflection - Nov. 6 - Test #3 - Sec. 13
Discuss your thoughts on taking Test #3. Were you prepared for it? If so, what strategies did you use as part of your preparation? If you were not prepared for it, what will you do next time to ensure that you do well on the test? In addition, discuss your thoughts of today's activities.

This essay made me learned about my parents more why they are strict on me. Writing this essay was easy for me because I was prepared and I was on the roll to know what to talk about. Brainstorming, Listing and etc made it easier for me. There is always a good reason why parents are strict on us, we may never know but someday we will understand.

DeleteThe reasons why parents are strict must be disbursed to the young parents now so they could grasp the aspects of producing more disciplined children like ourselves.
DeleteI liked your essay topic because my parents are also very strict, but i do realize why they seem unreasonable at times and its just for the best of us.
DeleteI know how you feel, when I became an adult and started to see my cousins and friends go through the same thing that I have gone, I can see both sides of the story and I understand why parents act the way they do.
DeleteTaking test #3 was a bit of a challenge for, due to my lack in time management. Expository essays need more time to go over and to cite our resources properly. I forgot about the due date for this essay, I did not attend class for two days and that put me far behind. My grandmother passed away, so I am fixated on her rosaries and funeral. I will prioritize my time because I know that is just as important, and my grandma would want me to focus on school too.

DeleteI honestly don't think I was prepared at all for this essay. I felt like I didn't take the time to write a good essay. It was difficult for me to write this essay because we were needed to search for information to support our main ideas. Also because it was hard to put my thoughts into writing. It was really time consuming. What I would do next time to ensure that I will do well on the test is just to do the essay on time and not stress about it.

DeleteI had a hard time managing my time too. I started pretty late (aside from the in class drafts) so it was difficult for me to get in all my research.
DeleteWe all mismanage our time. We can always improve by avoiding procrastination or managing time wisely. This essay was indeed time - consuming which is why it is good to start on it as early as possible. Stress is our worst enemy which is why we need to find ways to utilize it towards our advantage

DeleteTime management sure does comes in handy when one essay is due right after the one you just completed. I have also learned that we would have to be more prepared when producing an expository essay.
DeleteFor the most part, I was prepared for this essay. I had to make a lot of drafts this time, but it helped me organize all my information and make sure I had a strong paper. I found it really helpful that we started the first stages in class. However, I had a hard time because I only started researching about my topic yesterday. It was hard for me to do so much research in so little time. Today, I listened to everyone's topics and theses. I found it funny how majority of us talked about teen stressors.

DeleteI wish I was more prepared like you. I only did one draft and submitted it. I should have used my time wisely. It was amusing how many of our classmates had the same topic about teen stressors.
DeleteAfter being able to do some work in class ahead of time I think it was better for me because it forced me to have some sort of initiative to start. I still did most of the work slightly last minute but with the help of the sources I was able to do the best in my paper. Also it was interesting to write about all the new information that I learned. Presenting is always fun and I enjoyed hearing my colleagues express what they wrote about in their essays.

DeleteI believe that I am well prepared for this exam because I started early for I knew that it would be time consuming. Test #3 was interesting because of all the facts and knowledge I acquired about my topic. The strategies that I used to prepare for this test was find multiple sources and broke those sources down until I reach a sufficient amount of sources for my paper. As I always say, there is always room from improvement. Time management is important and despite the fact that I started early, I believe that i could have used most of my time wisely. Today's activity is interesting because most of us wrote about the topic of major teen stressors. We all are indeed stress because we mismanage our time. To avoid or lessen stress, we must avoid procrastination and stay on task.

DeleteThis test I would say would by far be the hardest I have done out of all of the essays we did. Having to research information took a lot of time and work. Tabs on tabs on tabs. Plus we had to cite the information we found on the web, books, etc. I am pretty sure citing would be my weakness. I enjoyed everyone's topic. Majority of them talked about teen's stressors in life.

DeleteCiting does take time if you don't know how to jot down your references. When I was done with my essay, I was so happy to see that I was done until I realized that I had to cite all of my references.
DeleteFor this expository essay, i honestly felt like i had to do more work than the other essays we have done. This essay was time consuming only because we had to do a lot of research and work cited it as well. Other than that, i learned a lot from my topic and i am glad I finished on time. I also enjoyed listening to everyone's topic :)

DeleteThe expository essay was a lot more difficult because we had to research our topic, and write about it. Next time, I will do all of my research first before I start writing my essay. In today's class, I realized teen stressors was the topic that was common among my classmates. I think no matter what we will always face stress. Even though I am no longer a teen anymore, I can still relate to their stress.

DeleteFor test three I felt that it was much more difficult than the last two.The part that I found difficult would be citation. I am not familiar with it. Looking for information was the easy part. Again I ended up procrastinating. I started my essay just yesterday, but I did get it done in time. I feel that when I work on my essay a week in advance I feel that I don't get as much work done as I do when I work on it last minute.

DeleteFor the Expository Essay, I found this essay the most challenging. It included deep thinking and researching. The expository essay allowed me to be more detailed in my researching. I was prepared with all the guides for the essay, my mind just wanted prepared to produce one. For this essay, I would prepare my mind with more strategies for researching.

DeleteThis essay was extremely difficult for me to even start, there was a whole lot of topics to choose from and many good ones too.
DeleteI am not the best writer nor do my words come out right as well. I stumble a lot when it comes towards writing and I always have problems starting off my essay. Essays are not my specialty nor is it easy for me to write. Sometimes, I wish writing was just as easy as talking. Doing this paper was difficult for me to write, describing my reason and coming up with concrete facts was hard even though my mind was racing with a whole of things to say. Hopefully next essay I will be more prepared!

DeleteAlthough I was off island and missed class plus the essay that was due today, I was inspired by everyone's topic and what they all had to say. The most interesting topic that I overheard was the struggles with teens. I have to agree, teens have so many struggles, speaking of one. We have school(High school and college). We also go through family times, finding new things like parting, drinking and etc. As time goes by as teens we experience more and more, especially in college, where we swould meet new people.

DeleteTeenagers stress everyday due to many situations such as school, family and also with their social life. Everyone struggles with stress but teens have more of a difficult time. We do experience new stressors as we get older.
DeleteI thought that test #3 was average. The sources' information, combined with the essay outline formula, helped me jot down the whole essay. All I needed to do was plug in the information into the outline and I was done. It was a little difficult due to the researching part.

DeleteI found this essay to be the the most difficult of all the assigned essays. This essay requires much time and research which can be tedious to search for. I did however, think that this is good preparation for more essays like this since i am not good at researching. For my topic i learned more about teenagers and that many of them really want to grow up fast and be treated as adults because of "freedom".

DeleteTaking the Test #3 was easier for me than the rest. I am guessing it is because we have writing a lot of essays recently and I got the hang of it. I now know the steps into writing an essay and it had become easier for me to write them. My thoughts flows better now that I know how to write a thesis, body and conclusion. I would said I was prepared for it due to all of the practice that we have been doing in class and out of class. I have more confidence now and I was able to read my thesis without any hesitation.

DeleteWith every essay I write, I always end up struggling because I am not very bright at it. But I thought taking test #3, the expository essay, was the easiest because researching about the the topic and getting information helps a lot. My topic was stressors in teen lives and writing about it made me learn more on what teens stress about daily.
