  1. Today's class discussion the class and I learned about writing, revising and editing different topics. We were also able to comprehend about many techniques on writing essays and how not to repeat certain words when writing essays constantly, just so that it wont be so annoying. As we were reading, we were also taught how to revise with clues which means Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Support and Sentences which I thought was extremely useful as well as helpful. That I most definitely will be using when doing my descriptive essay and many more essays to come.

  2. An expository essay focus on ideas that requires evidence and arguments against these ideas are also present in this type of essay. A Compare and Contrast essay is an example of an expository essay. Today, we focused on stage three of the writing process. We brushed up on CLUESS (Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Support, and Sentences), which will help on writing our four major essays.Today's lesson is also helpful as we get our papers reviewed by our peers. The process of recursive is essential in the third stage of the writing process, revision and editing. In this stage, grammatical, punctuation, and sentence errors are eliminated, producing a better paper. Let's not forget the absolute fun moments during today's class, especially Taylor's acting. Taylor, you made my day man!

  3. A narrative essay is a story to tell about your personal experience. Some times a story can tell how you are as a person. People can understand how you are because of personal experiences. For this essay, I would pick A vacation trip from your childhood. I pick this topic because when I was twelve years old, I have always wanted to go to California, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and etc. It came true. Especially, I've always wanted to go to Disney Land! That made my vacation more fun and plenty of memories. Today's lesson we've learned about CLUESS (Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Support, and Sentences) Learning CLUESS will make our essay look good. The class today seem to be really active maybe because Taylor's acting also when Taylor's was getting mad at me. It was really funny. I had a great laugh with the girls sitting next to me. We were having a funny conversation how they remember my name because every time I say my name. They said I say my name in a sassy way.. haha! Not true. I'm looking foward for more funny times with the class.

  4. When on the topic of narrative essays, I instantly think about stories. I really enjoy writing this type of essay because I feel like it can connect writer and reader on a more personal level. Also, I feel like it allows expression and creativity since usually the topic is an experience that one has gone through. Through narration, a reader would be able to use the details in the text to think of a time or a place where something worth writing about happened. I think that it can help everyone empathize and connect through words in an essay format. I'm still not very sure what I'm going to write my narrative essay about but I hope to make it very picturesque and be able to hold the interest of my intended audience.

  5. Narrative essays are created from a first persons point of view. I think that this essay is most personalized because it uses story telling based on real life events, like something you’ve experienced or something personal. Today’s class, we moved on to The Writing Process stage three, which helps us with writing our first draft and a guide on how to revise with CLUESS (Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Support, and Sentences). I enjoyed our class today because it became very humorous and entertaining when Taylor did ALL the examples on different types of tones.

  6. Based on what I've read about a narrative essay, It's basically telling a very detailed story about a particular event that has happened in your life. Somewhat like a descriptive, but more wordy. Today's overall activity, I feel as if the Brain stretchers are one of those activities that we feel aren't helping us in the present day, but will help further in the long run. Although I've just missed one day of class, I feel like I've missed a whole lot because I felt so lost in today's reading, that means more catching up for me!

    1. in a narrative essay i would say you would really have to think about what is your topic or what you want to write about. So our brain will really have to extend to our further more of thinking

    4. Don't worry, sometimes I feel lost even though I didn't miss a class. I sometimes just don't get it but a little help from others go along way in being able to understand what I'm supposed to do.

  7. Narrative essays to me is a way to make and write your own story as a narrator. You can tell who you want to be in your story or make-up characters along with your essay. In class, I liked how Taylor was expressing his way of attitude reading the expression sentences. His way of saying it was hilarious. It was very interesting on how at the end of class no one wanted or was too lazy to say things about their postcard. All in all class was good.

  8. The voice of the narrator in the type of essay is crucial and also the most fun part of it all. I agree that class was good.

  9. Narrarative essay is a story told from a specific point of view which allows the reader to gain insight at the end of the story. I would choose to write about an encounter thy changed my perspective because I feel like I can also change the readers perspective as well. Out of the things we discussed in class today, what really caught my attention was to be careful not to use the same words or phrases in your essay because it'll be repetitious and it will not catch the readers attention. I learned that slangs are okay to use in your essay as long as it does not sound to vulgar and makes the audience disinterested. I wish I had the confidence that Taylor has so that maybe next time, I can read some passages in a different tone.

  10. A narrative essay is when the writer tells their story from their point of view. In this essay, the writer will make the reader feel like he/she is there. The topic I chose for my narrative essay is all about me because I want to share my life with people, even though it make not be interesting. In class, I enjoyed learning how to edit and revise my essay. Also, I learned not to use cliche because it's better to original. I have to use my own words to express myself.

  11. Today we learned about Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Support, and Sentenced-CLUESS. Reviewing these points will help write effective and organized essays. A narrative essay is a style of writing which tells a story. These stories are commonly about the writer's personal experiences and encounters. In order for a descriptive essay to be effective, it must include all parts of the story and not leave out any important ideas. The essay must also serve a purpose. When it comes time to write my descriptive essay, I would love to write about my first visit to Japan.

  12. I never been to Japan, so I would like to hear what you are going to write for this topic!

  13. A narrative essay is a like a personal story, but it has to have an introduction, plot, climax and conclusion. I personally like to write my narrative essays in the form of a story. I know, like all essays you have to have a strong thesis statement, and you have to be concrete about the story. otherwise the essay could turn into a mess.
