  1. An expository essay is an essay that makes the writer look into and research what that specific topic is about. From the information found the writer will explain in detail more about that topic. The expository topic I would probably select would be either "explain why you enjoyed a particular teacher" or "explain why getting a driver's license is an important event is the lives of many teenagers". I would choose the first one because I know which teacher I want to write about. I would choose the second one because I don't have my license yet so that can be a benefit for me if I do decide to choose that specific topic.

    2. Personally, it would be quite difficult to choose a teacher that I enjoy. (I'm stuck between two of my high school teachers) Your definition of an expository essay is easy to understand! I agree with it completely!

    3. There are so many teachers that I would like to write about, that's why I didn't want to choose that topic. On the other hand, explaining why a driver's license is important, would actually be pretty easy. The topics you chose are very interesting, and good explanation on the the expository essay.

    5. The first topic is a good one because you know who to write about and you get to do some research in your second topic since you haven't experience getting a license yet. The research you do for the second topic should benefit you as well.

  3. An expository essay is an essay that needs to be backed up by research and evidence to explain your topic to its full potential. I would choose the topic "Explain how music affects your life". One, because I music and Two, I have thought about this topic before because music can affect the mood and the way you act when a certain song is playing. However, If I am allowed to create my own topic, I would most definitely do so.

  4. An expository essay is an essay which explains a certain topic through facts, rather than opinions. The objective of the writer of an expository essay is to expose the data to the readers in such a way that they are able to grab it. I think that I would write about how music affects my life. There is no doubt that music has a huge impact on today's society.

  5. An expository essay, also known as an informative essay, is an essay where the writer has to delve into their topic of choice. The writer will also have to clearly explain what the topic about so that the reader will be well informed. This essay is usually written in a five-paragraph format which consist of an introductory paragraph, the three body paragraph, and the conclusion paragraph. Out of the topics listed, I would like to write about “Explain why getting a driver’s license is an important event in the lives of many teenagers.” I would like to write about this because I have a couple ideas in mind and that it should be an easy topic to write about.

  6. An expository essay is an essay where you explain a topic using researched facts of the subject. You must explain your topic clearly and concisely. For my topic I would probably choose to explain why getting a driver’s license is an important event in the lives of many teenagers. I would choose this because I didn't really care if I got my license or not. I now have many reasons why getting my license was important.

  7. To me, an expository essay is an essay that involves a particular topic and doing extensive research on it. The essay must include facts instead of opinions. There were a few topics that caught my attention as I read the list. I would choose to either write about "Explain why you admire a particular person" or "Describe some nonmaterial things that make you happy". I chose the first topic because I could easily write about someone who I know well enough. (e.g. my best friend) I chose the second topic because I am the type of person to enjoy inanimate objects, (e.g. my laptop)

  8. An expository essay is also known as an informative essay. It takes some research to do this essay. It would be best to do a topic that you are kind of well informed of. It’s okay if you do not want to do a topic that you are well informed about. It just means that you would have to more research. As for the topics I would choose. I would most likely choose “Explain why getting a driver’s license is an important event in the lives of many teenagers”, “Explain why you like (or do not like) to work in a team”, “Explain why parents are sometimes strict”, or “Explain how music affects your life”. These topics would be the easiest ones to write about for I have a lot of experience for each.

  9. An Expository essay is an essay that presents and discusses a particular topic using factual and even statistical evidence to present an answer or conclusion to the topic. If I were to write about a topic on my expository essay, I would write about Why Teens Smoke Cigarettes. I think that this is a very interesting topic seeing as many of today's teens are found smoking when they shouldn't be.

    1. In a way, your definition sounds intellectual. I also agree that a lot of teens are smoking. It is very unhealthy. I wonder what percentage of teens smoke because of peer pressure, because they thought it was cool, if it was family influence, or something else.

    2. The topic is indeed interesting. I remember I saw on teen nick that any celebrity that had a photo of them smoking is free advertisement to the smoking community. This fact might give you an idea on how to write your essay. :D

  10. The expository essay is not an opinion or personal. It is about to investigate or research an idea, and present the facts. My topic that I would choose either "Explain why parents sometimes strict", "Explain why some teens commit suicide" or "Explain why some teens skip school". The three topics are something that I see and hear from my friends and other people. I'm interested to write from any of these topics because it is easy to write about.

  13. An expository essay is an essay in which you focus on an idea and setting an argument, which can be accomplished through comparison and contrast and cause and effect. My topic would be why teens smoke cigarettes. I chose this topic because I've known many teenagers that do smoke cigarettes, and I could see why they started.

An expository essay is an essay where you take one idea and focus on that idea by giving examples, explaining that idea, providing facts, and making sure to the readers that the idea you're talking about is correct. I would make my topic about how the environment influences kids. I picked a pretty serious topic because I have seen kids who turn out bad because of their unhealthy living environments.

  16. An expository essay is an essay of explaining or defining a subject. Some tips to help make a good essay would be to choose a topic, provide information, elaborate on the supporting evidence and summarize and review the main ideas. As for my topic, I would choose to write about why I especially enjoyed a particular teacher. I chose it because my 1st grade teacher has inspired me to major in education. My experience as her student has made me want to grow up as a teacher who everyone will appreciate and remember. I would also like to share my reasons of why I have chosen to talk about her.

  17. An expository essay is an essay that focuses to present an event or situation completely and fairly. It is to explain the essay to those who do not understand it. Your readers should not have to guess what you are writing about. The topic I would choose would most likely be explaining why young teens join gangs or want to join gangs because I see young teens getting into a lot of trouble lately. That would be the topic I’d write about.
