  1. after taking test #1, I got a better understanding about a descriptive essay. I procrastinated a lot while doing the essay. It honestly did not help. I did some things that were last minute. Doing things last minute at times I was not prepared and was not sure what to write but at the end of it I gain the preparation. I did an outline, a listing, and brainstormed on my ideas. If I was not prepared for the test I would start way early on my essay and will not procrastinate. In class, I got the feelings of those who told their love stories. It was very amusing and touching and also can be a motivation.

  2. Taking test 1, I was pretty nervous because I did not know what to expect. The night before I made sure that I had every stage finished, I printed out two copies just in case something happened to one.I made sure that everything was ready to turn in. All because I did not want to take the in class test.I enjoyed hearing everyone's essay.

    3. Same here! I didn't want to risk it so I had to triple check my work to see if i had everything before I went to class.

    4. I was also really paranoid about missing a step and having to do the in class essay. But I'm glad we both got everything done!

  3. I believe that i was prepared for the test because i was able to complete all the stages of the writing process and i was able to put out a decent presentation. The strategies that used to prepare is asking my peers for opinions on how to improve my writing and mustering up the confidence to present. I believe that there's always room for improvement so i absolutely know that i should expand my vocabulary and definitely avoid procrastination. Today's activity was a lot of fun. Each topic is truly interesting and it's amazing how most of us wrote about the topic of falling in love. Love was truly in the air today!

  4. The amount of time that has been given to us was a good time to finish the essay completely. I have to work on citing my resources. I was never taught how to cite the right way which made it difficult for me. Overall, I enjoyed all the presentations today. Hearing their topic and some bits of their essay was nice.

  5. I will be completely honest, I didn't use my time very wisely when it came down to this particular essay; however, when I sat down and set some time aside it wasn't too difficult. That's the lesson I relearned from this experience: starting is the hardest part. I also think that having resources, such as the internet, helped me very much. Talking about my essay and sharing is always a good activity because I feel it brings the class together and we learn from one another in the process.

  12. I really enjoyed doing this essay because I got to relate it to personal experience. But, I wasn't sure if my essay was specific enough. This is probably one of my favorite essays to do now because Dr. Rivera walked out through it. I learned that we should never procasinate because it's just going to mess you up in the end. It's also good helping out your fellow classmates when they're in need. I learned that doing this essay, you should just go with the flow and let it come naturally. Don't over think it. Using a personal experience for this essay made it more easy for me to write it.

  13. After taking Test #1, I was prepared. I did my brainstorming two weeks earlier which gave me a lot of time to be elaborate more on my topic. I spent my weekend working really hard on this essay. In today's class, I noticed my classmates wrote their descriptive essay about love. Also, most of us needed to expand their vocabulary to be more descriptive.

  14. Presenting our descriptive essay and actually doing it as a take home test was something that was a bit challenging to do but with the help of Dr. Rivera s lectures during class i was able to write the essay without any hesitations by remembering the steps on writing an essay, much more with the descriptive essay that i have written. As i was sitting in class, i was amazed to see the different topics of others and how they were able to describe it very uniquely. If only all our tests were like this for the rest of my classes.

  16. By writing my descriptive essay, I learned that writing an essay require a vast amount of time and effort. This was probably the hardest essay I have ever had to write about due to the fact that using the five senses to describe or use adjectives was hard. I hope that I won't have a hard time writing future essays. I really enjoyed listening to Shannon's essay because I could vividly imagine someone in my head. I felt as if I fell in love with love.

  17. Today we presented our descriptive essays. Some of us just read our topic and thesis and some read their whole essay aloud. It was nice to hear those who read their whole essay because it was interesting. They were very descriptive and lively which pulled me in to hear more and more. What I learned from writing my essay is that I had to be more detailed so it will keep the reader going.

Since some guy was printing his thesis, of course besides free paper and printing in the computer lab, I was still able to present on time. It was nice of Anne to help Gummy with printing his paper. Also, i learned that while doing a descriptive essay you need ample time so that you can get as much detail as possible. 20. I did the complete opposite from majority of the class today, I was not prepared at all with my essay. I only had my topic sentence in mind, But once I thought about it and put the pen to paper and thinking about what I was going to write the ideas just started flowing. The pressure is intense trying to write an essay in 40 minutes with all the stages, I feel confident that it turned out good. Hands-down to everyone who presented today!
